Custom Chypre Fragrance
Add up to six ingredients to our proprietary chypre base to create your own modern twist to a classic.
Although this style has been around for centuries, it was popularized a hundred years ago in 1917 by François Coty with a perfume by the same name ‘chypre’. This fragrance is characterized by it’s warm and woody base contrasted by a crisp and fresh citrus top. The ingredients for a basic chypre are musk, patchouli, oak moss, labdanum, and citrus. Common modifiers that are used with this are rose, sandalwood, rosewood, jasmine, cedar, bergamot, amber, vetiver, and any other citrus.
FOUGÈRE STYLE
Fougére comes from the french word for fern, so it typically evokes green thoughts and is quite crisp with hay like notes. Common modifieres that are used with this are amber, pine, fir, ylang-ylang, cedar, musk, and leather. Our proprietary recipe contains the following:
Oakmoss
Lavender
Tonka
Hay Absolute
Clary Sage
Geranium
Patchouli
Vetiver
Spruce
Hemlock
Custom Oriental Fragrance
Our oriental house blend is a combination of amber, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper. We’ve specifically toned down the spice a little bit in this blend to the bare minimum of what would be considered an oriental to give you room to add a little character of your own. With this blend you’re always welcome to add even more of any of it’s components (amber, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper), or take it in any direction you’d like. We’ve had great success with any of the aromatic woods, lavender, citrus, or any of the sensual florals like rose or ylang-ylang.
